Description

Create festive Brownie Christmas Trees using baked brownie mix circles layered with green frosting and decorated with holiday sprinkles and a star on top. A fun and easy holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box brownie mix (any brand), baked and cooled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp water

Frosting

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • green food coloring

Decoration

  • holiday sprinkles
  • yellow stars
  • disposable piping bag
  • Wilton Star tip 1m
  • 3 round cookie/biscuit cutters in varying sizes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Frosting: Combine powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Gradually add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time until the frosting reaches a pipeable consistency. Add green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  2. Set Up Piping Bag: Attach the Wilton Star tip 1m to the disposable piping bag and fill it with the prepared green frosting.
  3. Cut Brownie Circles: Using the three varying sizes of round cookie cutters, gently cut out circles from the baked and cooled brownies.
  4. Assemble Brownie Trees: Starting with the largest brownie circle, pipe frosting on top and stack the medium and then the smallest brownie circle on top, applying frosting between each layer to secure them.
  5. Decorate Trees: Pipe frosting on the top of the smallest brownie to resemble the top of a Christmas tree, then place a yellow star on top and sprinkle holiday sprinkles over the frosting.
  6. Repeat: Continue assembling and decorating the rest of the brownie circles to make multiple Brownie Christmas Trees.

Notes

  • You can prepare the brownies from the box mix by following the package instructions and baking before cutting.
  • Adjust the frosting consistency by adding more milk for thinner frosting or more powdered sugar for stiffer frosting.
  • If you don’t have cookie cutters, use a knife to cut circles freehand.
  • Use different colored sprinkles to add variety to your Christmas trees.
  • Chill assembled brownie trees briefly in the refrigerator to set the frosting before serving.
