Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Coating
- 11 ounce package milk chocolate, melted
- 11 ounce package white chocolate, melted
Topping
- 4 peppermint candy canes, crushed
Main Ingredient
- 24 graham cracker squares or 12 full size crackers
Instructions
- Melt Milk Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl by heating it for 30 seconds, stirring, and then continuing to heat at 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth, approximately 90 seconds in total.
- Dip Graham Crackers: Dip one end of each graham cracker square into the melted milk chocolate and place them on parchment paper. Repeat this with all the graham crackers.
- Set Milk Chocolate: Allow the milk chocolate on the graham crackers to set by letting them sit at room temperature or placing them in the refrigerator for faster setting.
- Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate in the same manner as the milk chocolate, heating it in 30-second bursts and stirring until smooth.
- Dip and Decorate: Dip the other end of each graham cracker into the white chocolate and immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy canes over the white chocolate before it sets.
- Final Setting: Let the entire chocolate coating set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for about 15 minutes before serving or storing.
Notes
- Using candy melts like Ghirardelli makes the process easier as no tempering is needed.
- Place dipped graham crackers in the fridge to speed up setting.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for a cooler texture.
- Crush candy canes by placing them in a plastic bag and rolling over them with a rolling pin; great activity for kids.
- Dark chocolate can be used as a substitute for milk chocolate for a richer flavor.
- Try using chocolate graham crackers, saltine crackers, or Ritz crackers for different flavor variations.
