- 8 cups corn or rice Chex cereal
Chocolate Coating
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating and Mix-Ins
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup mini peanut butter cups
- 1 ½ cups red and green M&M’s
Instructions
- Heat Chocolate Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently until the chocolate chips are completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined with the melted chocolate mixture.
- Prepare Cereal: Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl.
- Coat Cereal: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal. Stir gently until all cereal pieces are evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
- Dust with Powdered Sugar: Add the powdered sugar to the chocolate-coated cereal and stir until the mix is completely coated and no longer sticky.
- Add Mix-Ins: Carefully fold in the mini peanut butter cups and red and green M&M’s until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

- You can substitute almond butter for peanut butter for those with peanut allergies.
- A double boiler can be used instead of a saucepan to melt the chocolate chips smoothly.
