Description

Crispy, guilt-free Air Fryer Fried Pickles offer a crunchy, flavorful snack made healthier by using an air fryer. These dill pickle quarters are coated in seasoned Panko breadcrumbs and cooked to perfection for an easy and tasty appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Pickles

  • 6 pickles (cut into 24 quarters)

Breading

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Montreal Steak seasoning or regular steak seasoning

Other

  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare Breading Stations: Set out three medium bowls. Place the flour in the first bowl, whisk the eggs with milk in the second bowl, and combine Panko breadcrumbs with steak seasoning in the third bowl.
  2. Coat Pickles: Dip each pickle quarter first in the flour, then the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coating. Place the coated pickles on a plate.
  3. Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Spray the air fryer basket generously with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  4. Arrange and Spray Pickles: Place pickles in a single layer in the basket without overlapping. Spray the tops of the pickles with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  5. Air Fry: Cook at 380 ˚F for 6 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and repeat the process with any remaining pickles in batches.
  6. Serve: Serve air fryer fried pickles immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use dill pickle quarters found in the refrigerated section for best flavor.
  • Arrange pickles in the air fryer basket so they do not touch to ensure even cooking.
  • If Panko breadcrumbs are unavailable, regular breadcrumbs can be used, though the texture will be less crispy.
  • Cooking time may vary based on pickle size and thickness; adjust accordingly.
  • Spraying the air fryer basket and pickles with cooking spray helps prevent sticking and promotes crispiness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Freezing is not recommended as the pickles will lose their crispiness.
  • Reheat leftover fried pickles in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispness.
