Description

These Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are a festive and delicious holiday treat made with Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes, coated in smooth white chocolate, and decorated with sprinkles and sanding sugar for a delightful crunch and appearance.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 1 box (5 cakes) Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles

Coating and Decoration

  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cake Crumbs: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl. Use a handheld mixer to mix the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Stir in the festive sprinkles evenly.
  2. Form Truffle Balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop the crumb mixture and roll it between the palms of your hands to form small balls. Place each on a parchment-lined baking sheet and continue until all dough is used.
  3. Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second increments or by using a double boiler until smooth and fully melted.
  4. Dip Cake Balls: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate until fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then return them to the baking sheet.
  5. Melt Red Candy Melts: Melt the red candy melts in a piping or ziplock bag in 30-second intervals in the microwave, massaging the bag between increments to ensure smooth melting.
  6. Decorate Truffles: Snip the tip of the melted red candy melt bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the coated truffles for decoration. Top with green sanding sugar immediately and let the truffles set in the fridge for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use a double boiler to melt chocolate gently and avoid burning.
  • Refrigerate truffles for 10-15 minutes to set the coating firmly before serving.
  • You can substitute white chocolate with any flavored candy melts of your choice.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  • Add extra festive sprinkles or edible glitter for extra holiday flair.
