Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe combines the rich flavors of garlic butter and melty mozzarella on a crispy French bread base, topped with savory pepperoni and Parmesan cheese. It’s a quick and easy twist on classic pizza, perfect for a satisfying dinner or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

French Bread Pizzas

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Chopped fresh parsley to garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley until well combined.
  3. Cut Bread: Cut the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces, similar to garlic bread.
  4. Spread Garlic Butter & Bake: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture evenly on each piece of bread. Place the bread cut side up on the prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes to toast slightly.
  5. Add Pizza Sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and spread ¼ cup of pizza sauce evenly over each piece.
  6. Top with Cheese and Pepperoni: Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese over each slice of bread.
  7. Bake Again: Bake for 18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread turn golden brown.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and allow the pizzas to sit for 2-3 minutes. Optionally, garnish with red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley, and additional parmesan cheese. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for the best texture.
  • For a quicker version, use frozen garlic bread in place of the homemade garlic butter mixture and bread; skip the garlic butter step and proceed with sauce and toppings.
  • Freshly shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese gives the best melt and flavor.
  • Parmesan adds a nice salty depth; mix it with mozzarella or sprinkle on top.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level or omit completely if sensitive to heat.
