Description

Oreo Polar Bear Paws are a fun and festive treat featuring Oreos dipped in creamy white chocolate and decorated with Junior Mints and mini brown M&Ms to create adorable polar bear paw designs. These no-bake treats are perfect for winter parties or holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 20 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 13.9-ounce package Oreos
  • 1 box Junior Mints
  • 100 mini brown M&Ms from 1 family size package of mini M&Ms
  • Sanding sugar, as needed, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the workspace: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place the 20 ounces of white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring thoroughly between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Coat the Oreos: Drop one Oreo into the melted white chocolate. Using a fork, flip it over to coat all sides evenly. Lift the Oreo out and gently shake off any excess chocolate, scraping the bottom edge of the bowl to remove extra chocolate to avoid pooling around the cookie.
  4. Decorate the Oreos: Place the chocolate-covered Oreo on the parchment paper. Position one Junior Mint at the bottom center of the Oreo as the paw pad. Surround the top area with 4 brown mini M&Ms to represent the toes. Generously sprinkle sanding sugar over the entire paw for a frosty effect. Repeat this process with remaining Oreos, working in batches of about five cookies.
  5. Set the cookies: Transfer the decorated Oreos to the freezer for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to fully set and harden.
  6. Store and serve: Once set, store the finished Oreo Polar Bear Paws in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Avoid freezing if possible, as the M&Ms may lose color upon thawing.

Notes

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks for extended freshness.
  • Freezing is not recommended because the mini M&Ms can lose their vibrant color when they thaw, impacting the presentation.
  • Use parchment paper to easily transfer and prevent sticking when dipping the Oreos.
  • Work in small batches to keep the white chocolate melted and manageable for dipping.
