Description

This refreshing Peach Iced Tea combines the rich flavors of brewed tea with a homemade peach syrup made from fresh or frozen peaches, honey, and sugar. Perfect for a hot day, it features frozen peach slices for a cool, fruity twist and is easy to prepare in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 family size tea bag

Peach Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup honey
  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed (or fresh peaches peeled and sliced)

For Serving

  • 2 cups frozen peaches (Do not thaw. If using fresh peaches, slice and freeze on a parchment-lined pan)
  • Ice as needed

Instructions

  1. Make the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the family size tea bag for 5 minutes. Pour brewed tea into a 2-quart pitcher and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Add pureed peaches and bring again to a low boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Strain the Syrup: Pour the peach syrup through a mesh sieve over a small bowl. Press on the peach pulp to extract as much juice as possible, discarding the remaining pulp.
  4. Combine Tea and Syrup: Add the peach syrup to the brewed tea gradually, tasting until desired sweetness is reached. Typically, add 1 to 2 cups of syrup to the 4 cups of tea. For single 8-ounce servings, use ¼ to ½ cup syrup.
  5. Serve: Place frozen peaches into 4 glasses. Add ice cubes, then pour the peach tea over the peaches and ice. Serve immediately.
  6. Store Leftovers: Keep any unused peach syrup and leftover tea refrigerated for future use.

Notes

  • Frozen peaches work great and allow for year-round enjoyment if fresh peaches are unavailable.
  • Adjust the syrup quantity to your desired sweetness level.
  • Store leftover tea and syrup in the refrigerator and consume within a few days.
  • Freezing fresh peach slices on parchment paper prevents them from sticking together.
